A pristine beach? The natural sounds of your coastal environment? Perhaps an ancient fish species, an opportunistic seal or a hungry sea bird?

In the last months of 2023 an estimated 640 Greater Cormorants entered ocean-based Salmon farms south of Hobart seeking their own dinner.

Eighty nine didn’t survive the feast.

Thirty six died snagged in the nets and a further 53 were shot and killed by fish farm staff.

Killings sanctioned by the Tasmanian Government and actioned by Tassal staff.
